Topgolf Junior Marketing Manager in San Jose, California
Topgolf is seeking a Marketing Manager (Junior level) that brings campaigns to life at a local level and plans and executes a local marketing plan specific to their area to drive visits to the venue. They know where to find our Topgolf demographic and they know the latest hot spots on the local social scene as well as competitor activity and promotions. The Marketing Manager works alongside the Topgolf central marketing team to execute the local activity for the campaign calendar ensuring a truly integrated approach to marketing activity. Their communication skills and vibrant personality are just as important as their knowledge of marketing. The venue teams rely on Marketing Manager for direction of offers, promotions, events and campaign initiatives as they bridge the gap between the central team and operations.

Know the local market! Where people go, when they go, latest offers and promotions of competitors (social media, key groups to follow, network participation)
Planning outreach as part of national and local campaigns or to enhance community relations (networking, apartments/hotels, key players)
Identifying, securing and managing onsite setup and activation of local outreach events (festivals, 5Ks, expos, golf tournaments), including scheduling and leading in-house Marketing Champions, to generate leads and drive visits to venue
Recruiting venue Associates to join the marketing team as a Marketing Champion, training them to conduct outreach (guerilla and paid activations) and best represent the Topgolf brand to consumers
Tracking results of all activity and making recommendations for future activity (KPI’s, budgets/financial returns, ROI)
Executing and activating central marketing campaigns in venue as directed by the corporate marketing team
Working with venue management to educate and engage associates on important campaign details including campaign objectives, target audience, upsell tactics, offers, etc.
Securing local influencers, as needed, to promote national campaigns
Reporting back on campaign results from venue level
Taking the framework from corporate marketing to create campaigns within the brand guidelines and budget, and amplifying the experience in venue for our guests
Generating ideas for your venue that are on-brand and approved by venue Director of Operations and central marketing team, plan accordingly and track results of said activity
Creating and managing key partnerships with local businesses/organizations who can help with our word of mouth campaigns and build community relations (golf outings, local networking groups, charities)
Activating and managing venue implementation and activation of corporate secured partnerships
Ensuring all materials on display in venue comply with brand standards (timely/updated/in good shape) – replace as needed by printing corporate provided materials locally
Coordinating all marketing request forms (MRF) before they are sent over to corporate marketing. Ensuring the event/initiative fits within the current campaign and is in accordance with the Topgolf brand
Maintaining the stock/version of promotional items (hand out items, promo cards, tents, banners, games, posters, brochures, etc.)
Managing your local venue Facebook page; post 7+ times per week – grow engagement quarter over quarter. Use as a platform to promote national campaigns as well
Monitoring review platforms regularly such as Yelp, TripAdvisor and Google; sharing key feedback with venue management team
Working with management team and associates to deliver the ultimate guest experience, paying attention to: lighting, music, TV, programs, feedback, communication of events/activities, signage, offers (from corporate, venue and digital), menus, wearables and general ambiance
Monitoring activity and reporting trends/concerns
Reviewing, evaluating and if aligned to our brand/meets our criteria, fulfilling, requests for donations/sponsorships of local sports teams, charities or schools
Coordinating and tracking local volunteer efforts, promoting these opportunities with venue associates to garner volunteers
Participating in charitable outreach that can also be a business/networking opportunity
Managing your local marketing budget
Requires a Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Communications or Public Relations
1-2 years’ experience in a Marketing role, utilizing: Social media, managing ROI and KPI metrics, spearheading venue specific marketing initiatives, managing local outreach marketing programs, developing and managing local partnerships, managing relationships with charity and non-profit partners
