Topgolf Lead Accountant - Revenue Accounting in Dallas, Texas

Job Responsibilities

  • Prepare accounting for Topgolf playercard and gift card revenue recognition including breakage and fees.

  • Provide reporting on historical redemption patterns gift cards and playercards using data tools and software

  • Prepare monthly revenue and other related journal entries in accordance with ASC 606

  • Work with 3rd party providers to obtain appropriate reporting for gift card and player card activity.

  • Provide accounting support to approximately 6 venues including month end close accruals, analysis, and respond to questions

  • Analyze and Review various types of venues and corporate transactions for financial completeness and accuracy. Prepare presentations for management as needed

  • Analyze and Review customer contracts for proper accounting under ASC 606 and review monthly journal entries to record transactions in appropriate accounting periods

  • Prepare monthly account reconciliations to ensure accurate reporting

  • Review payment application received to open invoice amounts and various checks received

  • Support quarterly reviews and annual audits, including schedule preparation and fulfilling sample selection requests. Work with the accounting team to implement process and control improvements in accordance with SOX

Critical Skills & Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor's in Accounting, Finance, or Business Management required

  • CPA license required

  • 4+ years related professional experience in a financial/accounting function

  • 1+ year experience with applying ASC 606

  • 1+ year auditing experience at a public accounting firm is a plus

  • 1+ year experience working with SEC registrants is a plus

  • Ability to use programs such as Power BI and Amazon QuickSight to manipulate and review data

  • In-depth understanding of GAAP and the ability to research and apply technical accounting issues to recording financial results

  • An intermediate to advanced understanding of the Microsoft Office suite of products, including Word and Excel is required

  • Strong organizational and communication skills essential to success

  • Ability to work with various and multiple software and reporting systems

  • A desire to participate and willingness to show up for team events and be visible on video calls

  • Organize, prioritize, and manage multiple simultaneous projects and tasks. Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and projects

  • Communicate effectively with management, coworkers and external auditors
