Topgolf Training and Development Specialist, TI Academy in Dallas Office, Texas

Overview

Topgolf is seeking a Training & Development Specialist that will help plan, conduct, and administer programs that train & educate our Playmakers to improve their skills and knowledge of our technology in venues. You will join a team that works collaboratively with technical writers, developers, quality engineers, product managers, and usability experts to make our products easier to use.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for managing the creation and structure for collecting critical operational data related to TI solutions.

  • Identify and manage process improvement opportunities. Ensure continuous improvement is embedded within the culture of the TI Playmakers.

  • Responsible for managing the development of technology training curriculum and modules in partnership with the TI product and operations teams. Partnering with the Topgolf Learning team to facilitate, in a structured manner, critical technology training via online, remote, or in-person training courses.

  • Performs assessments to identify training needs for training interventions and course development.

  • Creates, obtains, organizes, plans, and presents various forms of onboarding, orientation, and skills training for Playmakers.

  • Briefing TI leadership on areas of concern, opportunities for improvement and assisting for cost / benefit analysis.

  • Maintains records of training and development activities, attendance, results of tests and assessments, and retraining requirements.

  • Maintains knowledge of the latest trends in training and development.

  • Analyzes training content for accessibility; and implements changes to make content accessible and remediates accessibility issues.

  • Identifies long-range training goals and recommends programs to achieve goals, including the development of an annual training plan.

  • Will design, develop, deploy, and deliver computer based and interactive e-Learning curricula and training modules.

  • Perform administrative tasks such as monitoring costs, scheduling classes, setting up systems and equipment, and coordinating enrollment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Training & Development or equivalent, preferred

  • Certifications in APTD, CPTD, or CPLP, preferred

  • 5+ years Experience leading a Technology, Operations or HR/Training team

  • 5+ years Thorough knowledge of principles and practices of training and development methods and techniques

  • 5+ years Executive / Leadership stakeholder communication & management

  • 5+ years Considerable knowledge in methods to identify training needs, reporting, and evaluating results of needs assessments, and analyzing performance problems to organize and coordinate training programs to meet those needs.

  • Ability to work a range of different work schedules

  • Ability to validate all technical material for consistency and accuracy

  • Ability to prioritize and execute tasks in a fast-paced environment

  • Ability to multi-task and be a self-starter

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Proficient in process assessment and curriculum development

  • Strong presentation skills in both classroom and remote settings

  • Adept with a variety of multimedia training platforms and methods

  • Ability to evaluate and research training options and alternatives

  • Ability to design and implement effective training and development curriculum

  • Extremely proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and related program software

  • Knowledge of training and development procedures and techniques; learning management and learning content management systems; group processes, group dynamics, and interpersonal relations; and instructional design and curriculum development

  • Ability to formulate learning objectives; to develop training objectives; to evaluate the effectiveness of training; to assess training needs; to communicate effectively; and to supervise the work of others

  • Ability to prepare both routine and analytical reports

  • Ability to work effectively with individuals, groups, and various units within the organization, including management, to carry out goals of the training function

  • Ability to exercise judgment, make decisions, establish professional contacts, and organize time with minimal supervision

  • Broad understanding of technology systems, tools, and processes

Travel up to 20% - Period venue visits to assess overall state of technology operations and to identify pain points for our Playmakers that could be rectified with documented processes and/or procedures and training.
