Topgolf Sr Unity Engineer, Swing Suite in Dallas Office, Texas


The Senior Game Engineer for Swing Suite reports to the Software Engineering Team Lead and is responsible for maintaining existing games and building new games using the Unity framework and targeting the Windows platform. The primary responsibilities for this role will be to design and implement game experiences through collaboration with the team and broader Topgolf ecosystem. The ability to iterate and evolve existing games, collaborative problem solving, and a consistent approach to game design and delivery are essential.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain the existing catalog of Swing Suite games through making changes directly or facilitating changes through external teams & partners

• Establish a consistent approach to game design and development

• Translate ideas, designs, and concepts into game functionality

• Collaborate with the team to deliver game experiences that integrate with the Swing Suite platform

• Collaborate with the broader Topgolf ecosystem to deliver game experiences that complement the other Topgolf platforms

• Develop and implement a testing strategy that promotes quality through the process of game development

• Optimize games for performance, responsiveness, and delivery

Key Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, a related field, or equivalent work experience is required

• 6+ years of experience in professional software development in a technically mature organization is required

• 4+ years of experience in game development utilizing the Unity game engine

• 2+ years of experience in developing games that target the Windows platform is required

• Experience working in an agile environment and with the Scrum methodology particularly is required

• Experience with Unity 3D, scripting, textures, session management, and animation is required

• Experience with game physics and particle systems is required

• Experience in developing UI/UX in Unity is desired

• Experience in design patterns for implementing levels, and level design is desired

• Experience in building a pipeline to deliver games to production environments is desired

• Experience developing solutions that include RESTful webservices is desired

• Experience developing solutions that include cloud services with a strong preference of AWS is desire
