Topgolf Sr. Software Engineer (Web) in Dallas Office, Texas

Overview

The purpose of the Software Engineer role is delivery of quality code to push forward the feature set of our technology enabled business. This may include writing new code, maintenance of existing code, and fighting off the robot apocalypse. This role is assigned work of moderate to high complexity and with limited assistance from more senior team members. Responsible for developing web components used by our franchisee partners and corporate websites. The person will develop against standard API's provided by the central team while identifying opportunities to improve stability and performances of the API's available. The person will interface with multiple teams during the development process and provide leadership to improve our digital capibilities in the web.

Responsibilities

  • Document, design and deliver high quality code, and collaborate on testing

  • Fix assigned software defects on time and to quality specifications

  • Provide accurate estimates for assigned work

  • Represent team in code reviews

  • Develop or comply with existing tagging strategy for new web features to enable analytics

  • Build out testing capability where to ensure scalability and quality of delivery to production environments

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field preferred

  • 7+ years In a previous Software Engineering role

  • 7+ years Object-oriented and procedural programming

  • 7+ years Working with Vue.js, node.js and/or PHP

  • 3+ years Working with SQL databases

  • 2+ years Writing and maintaining Python code

  • 2+ years Using software defect tracking tools such as Jira

  • Experience with multiple programming languages

  • Experience with Git source control

  • Ability to quickly learn new technologies

  • Read and understand software requirements

  • Write high quality, maintainable code and to work independently to test and debug code

  • SDLC methodologies

  • Written and verbal communication skills
