Topgolf Senior Revenue Accountant in Dallas Office, Texas


Topgolf is seeking a super talented and highly motivated accounting guru for our accounting team. The main purpose of this role is to work with our accounting group to produce accurate and timely financial statements for internal and external use. This will include revenue accounting for advertising contracts, software products, our latest Swing Suite and Top Tracer technology in accordance with applicable accounting standards as well as many other corporate and site accounting processes. This position will provide accounting support during the annual external audit. The person in this role will also research technical accounting issues and provide guidance to accounting on how to record transactions appropriately. It will interact with corporate and site level associates and managers (our customers) to assist with financial information communication. On top of that, there will be lots of opportunities to work on special projects within accounting, finance, and tax. We are looking for someone who knows their stuff well enough to work with fairly minimal oversight and can work well with teams.

Key Responsibilities


  • Provide accounting support to approximately 7 venues including month end close accruals, analysis, and response to questions.

  • Analyze customer contracts for proper accounting under ASC 606 and prepare monthly journal entries to record transactions in appropriate accounting periods.

  • Analyze various types of venues for financial completeness and accuracy.

  • Work closely with management to communicate accounting interpretations.

  • Prepare presentations for management as needed.

  • Prepare monthly account reconciliations to ensure accurate reporting.

  • Apply payments received to open invoice amounts.

  • Monitor open account balances and provide regular aging reporting to sales teams to assist with collection efforts.

  • Support Joint Venture accounting for one of our business segments.

  • Support quarterly and annual audits, including schedule preparation and fulfilling sample selection requests.

  • Work with the accounting team to implement process and control improvements

Key Qualifications


  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required.

  • You must be a CPA or CPA candidate with at least 3 years of experience with demonstrated increasing responsibilities and exposure to technical accounting issues.

  • Expertise with applying ASC 606 is a must.

  • Experience with joint venture accounting is a plus.

  • Auditing experience at a public accounting firm is a plus.

  • Experience working with SEC registrants is a plus.

  • Experience in the Restaurant or Retail industries is preferred


  • In-depth understanding of GAAP and the ability to research and apply technical accounting issues to recording financial results.

  • An intermediate to advanced understanding of the Microsoft Office suite of products, including Word and Excel is required.

  • Strong organizational and communication skills essential to success.

  • Ability to work with various and multiple software and reporting systems.

  • In-depth knowledge of financial data requirements in order to implement new programs and maintain the proper levels of controls.

  • Organize, prioritize, and manage multiple simultaneous projects.

  • Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and projects.

  • Communicate effectively with management, coworkers and external auditors
